Arrenta, based in Madrid, specializes in insurance in the real estate sector, mainly in rental default insurance which it distributes through real estate agencies and APIs throughout Spain. Following this acquisition, Sabseg Group now comprises a total of nine brokerage firms and agencies in Spain and Portugal, and continues to progress in its consolidation project.
Sabseg Group, a leading independent broker in Spain and Portugal, specializing in business insurance, strengthens its project with the incorporation of the brokerage Arrenta, a leader in Spain in real estate insurance and leases.
Arrenta reinvests in the project and strengthens the group's structure and its growth plan in the Iberian Peninsula, diversifying its insurance portfolio with more specialties and reinforcing its leadership in insurance for businesses. After the latest acquisitions, Sabseg Group has nine brokerages.
Arrenta, based in Madrid, is the leading brokerage in rental default insurance and other insurances related to the real estate sector and property leases, thanks to the design of specific insurance products for a sector where there are more than 3.5 million rented homes and a higher number of commercial premises. With a 44% growth in 2023, it has managed to mediate more than 11 million premiums and has more than 30,000 policies in its portfolio. Its clients are divided between small and large holders and it has a consolidated network of more than 500 collaborators, most of whom are real estate agencies.
Javier Íscar, president of Arrenta, along with his partners Mercedes Robles, Soraya Alonso, and Begoña Fandiño join as partners of Sabseg Group and will lead the segment of real estate and rental insurance.
Carles Alsina, CEO of Sabseg Group, highlights that: "After this alliance, Sabseg Group adds a new vertical to the group, reaffirming our growth model and value proposition based on the incorporation of talented teams that lead brokerages that are leaders in their respective niches of specialty and/or geographical area."
According to Javier Íscar, president of Arrenta, “the alliance with Sabseg Group allows us to join a consolidated and benchmark project in the Iberian Peninsula, extending our services to our network of clients and complementing coverage in other segments. In addition, their human and close vision fits very well with our philosophy and work culture.”
The operation has involved the advisement to SABSEG GROUP from XP Advisory, Mesana Corporation, and Gruup Mergers (M&A); ILV Silver (financial DD), RCD (legal DD), and Miralles & Serra (operational and commercial DD) and has received advisement from the M&A team of CECA MAGÁN ABOGADOS on the part of ARRENTA.
Sabseg Group aims to maintain its leadership as the independent broker in Iberia, incorporating leading insurance brokerages in their niche and/or geography with a high specialization in companies. It is currently a benchmark in general business insurance and in agricultural, credit and surety, international credit, nautical, private client, and art segments, in addition to offering general insurance. The project clearly bets on technology and the digitalization of processes to strengthen customer service by centralizing key corporate areas such as finance and talent management.
The group's differential strategy is based on the fundamental role of the partners of the incorporated brokerages, to whom technological, financial, human resources support, and greater product diversity are offered so that they can continue to maintain a close relationship and local service with their clients. At the same time, they have a wide range of innovative product and service solutions that are currently only available to large companies.
The group is led by Carles Alsina as CEO, with Ignacio Quesada as M&A Director, in addition to the partners of the integrated brokerages. It currently has more than €500 million in mediated premiums, 200,000 clients, more than 450 employees, 45 offices, and more than 2,000 agents.
